COS outing to Fenns & Whixhall Moss: this was on Sunday 4th July. It was quite windy but still good for butterflies, including Large Heaths which gave good views. In 2007 we saw Hobby and Peregrine, this time Buzzard, Sparrowhawk & a Kestrel family. One member who didn't come in 2007 was very keen to see a Hobby; unfortunately when David Hewett spotted one right in the middle of Overton on the way home, said member was on the wrong side of the car! The bird was presumably chasing House Martins.
[/b]Coach to Rutland Bird Fair Aug 21:[b] still a few seats left, £20 fare + £9 entry if pre-booked. Coach will start from Gwalchmai' pick-ups include Bangor, Llandudno Junction & Colwyn Bay.
