Still present at 2.30 pm at least today, whilst we viewed it hunting, it completed a full circuit around the the summit and masts at Craig Bron-banog. Also a few Crossbills in trees adjacent to the approach track.

Up at mast with Alan Davies by 8am and bird showed well in birch tree towards windmills before 8.30am. Fly over Crossbill, Siskin and Redpoll with perched Crossbills in trees at Bod Petruel picnic area.

Dipper on river by Cross Inn public house, 15+ Bramblings in alders near entrance to Llyn Brenig. 3 Red Grouse at North end of Llyn Brenig with 111 Pink-footed Geese flying over same site.

Single Tree Sparrow and Brambling at feeders at Kinmel Bay/ Towyn area.

Back on Anglesey before news of Surf Scoters broke ...... there is always tomorrow!

If you do go to look for the shrike please view only from outside the fenced off area, do not climb over the gate of fences please. The area is, amazingly, monitored by CCTV!! Police were alegedly called today when birders were viewing, not doing any harm what so ever, from inside the fenced area. So to avoid hassel stay out and view from the hillside alongside. Please report any sightings from this remote area.

Many thanks Alan

60 flying high in V formation over Pentrefoelas at 1pm, and a smaller flock heading same way later. I guess these had come from Brenig! Wonder if anyone will pick them up on Anglesey?
A nice change from feral Greylags & Canadas.
Geoff

Seen again today near the mast. Please remember if you visit the site, do not enter the fenced off area, thanks.

Bit fresh up there this morning and missed the Shrike but didnt really care as I was in the early stages of hypothermia. It was seen later in the day. 27 Brambling in crop field near Llyn Brenig entrance, Martin previous reported these last weekend. Single Brambling in Pentrellyncymner village also.
